More Details About Project This project was a very large 3 story Barnes & Noble store which consisted of large decorative entablatures, pilasters, cornices, panels and trim which were originally specified as EIFS, metal and stone. FRP was selected because of its ability to match the exact appearance of the originally specified materials while at the same time providing a much more superior durability. All of the shapes on this project required a high level of decorative or artistic detail in various custom conditions which could only be achieved by the use of a material suitable for custom molded applications. Due to the lightweight nature of FRP, the contractor was able to install it using light gauge framing versus structural members and clips required for stone and metal. The FRP was then field finished in a brushed bronze type theme painted finish. This store is located in the center of a very high end shopping center, and the customer was so pleased with the result that they purchased a second contract with us to do the decorative GFRG on the interior of the store.
